Lloyd’s Register to Assume OCX Consortium Chair from DNV

Since the establishment of the OCX Consortium in 2019, DNV has held the Chairmanship of the Consortium, but it will now be handed over to Lloyd's Register from January 1, 2026.

Lloyd’s Register will assume the roles of Coordinator and Chair from DNV, which has held these positions since the Consortium’s establishment in 2019. While the intention has always been to rotate these roles among the Consortium’s full members every two years, continuity was prioritised during the initial build-up period. Now, the time has come to pass the baton to Lloyd’s Register.

The Consortium is thriving, attracting significant interest from the maritime industry. The OCX standardisation initiative is enabling shipyards and designers to collaborate with Classification Societies in a digital, future-oriented manner, and several industry players have already integrated the standard into their tools. Since its inception, the Consortium has experienced steady growth and now boasts 40 members.
